I am a terrible blogger but I did it, I finished a half marathon!

Why I’m ready to be home right now!

If I could teleport back home at this very second I would! Abandon all school work. Leave behind finals. Give not a second thought to residents. That is all I want right now! AND here’s why!

  • family 
  • my house, the smell of home, home cooking, good food constantly in the fridge,
  • friends, I don’t fully comprehend how much they make me “me” until I go without them, Thanksgiving was just a teaser.
  • my dogs
  • complete darkness, my room at school is never fully dark and I don’t sleep well because of it.
  • complete silence, dorm life problem number one. My hall constantly has girls screaming down the hall to one another, clacking down the hall in heals, the elevator bell, people on the phone in the hall, and always in the middle of the night.
  • having nothing to do and enjoying it.

I am at the end of my rope and its destination is home.

 

End of Week 7

Luckily I have been better about my running that I have about updating my tumblr.

7 weeks in and I am feeling fine! At this point I have completed my 30 in 30 training and moved onto the 5k training. I am glad I did the 30 in 30 training rather than jumping right into a 5k training. The 30 in 30 training gave me time to make a habit out of running and time to get my body used to running. My most recent run was fantastic! But I am realizing that I will have good runs and bad runs. This is usually effected by what I do the day before. If I eat a bunch of crap or don’t get enough sleep my run is a struggle. Not eating a bunch of crap as a college student is difficult. That is my next obstacle to overcome, eating right. Running is a habit and I need to make healthy food and drinking more water a habit.

I have a tendency to look too much into the future. Especially when I have a bad run I think if this small distance is a struggle how am I going to do 13.1 miles? I need to stay present in the moment during my runs and think of how much easier it has already gotten. A small step forward is still forward. Overall the training is going well and every week it gets a bit easier. 

I went on my first roller coaster yesterday. One was called the Screamin’ Eagle. If I hadn’t been screaming different combinations of the words shit and fuck I would have screamed EAGLE!! P.S. Not a roller coaster person. Absolutely terrifying!
